Tim Smith

TimSmith2016Tim Smith has 30 years experience in public policy, association management, advocacy management, crisis communications, ally development, and social media for a number of multi-state campaigns.

Currently Smith is part of a national management team where he manages advocacy and ally development in 10 states for a large energy client.  In this role Smith develops strategies and helps his team implement tactics that educate and recruit supporters from traditional and non-traditional groups, who in turn advocate on behalf of the client’s issues at the federal and state levels.

As a senior advisor to the Coca-Cola Company, Smith advised and built a public affairs program that interacted with university presidents and university environmental directors to assist the Coca-Cola Company in retaining university bottled water contracts. Smith has also managed a number of national advocacy accounts for United Airlines, Norfolk Southern Railroad, Amtrak, The Steel Strapping Institute, PhRMA, Altria, BP Amoco, Illinois Tool Works, Navistar, The Illinois Venture Capital Conference and numerous other corporations and associations.

Smith lobbied in Washington D.C. for seven years on behalf of the Walgreens Company.   Daiichi Sankyo Pharmaceuticals is a current client for which he lobbies in Springfield, IL.
